The War Museum and Redipuglia Memorial The Redipuglia Memorial houses the remains of the more than 100,000 soldiers who died defending the surrounding area during the First World War. The monument is Italy's largest war memorial, consisting of 32 marble stairs and 40,000 bronze plaques bearing the names of the known fallen soldiers. The top consists of two common graves holding the remains of the 60,000 unknown. A small museum displays a large collection of historic photographs, weapons, uniforms and relics from the war.
